A little bit about myself...

    So where should I begin? Well first off, my name is Jackie Ioimo and I’m an agri-science and education major.  This is my fourth year at Chico State and I will be graduating this coming May.  Next fall I should be student teaching or doing an internship. Hopefully I’ll be placed somewhere in the central region, but so far it looks like I might be stuck in the northern part of California.  Not that I’m complaining, I love the northern area, but I would like to be teaching in the central coast region eventually.  Coming from the central coast, I have realized what I have left behind and have come to find that I miss the area more than I thought.  Sure we don’t get the four seasons or snow, but I’m completely content with the warm sun and the little precipitation we get throughout the year.  Nor should I forget that we do have something that Chico lacks: the beach.  Sadly, a river just doesn’t cut it for me.

    I have never been the one who could just attend class and not be active in any other activities. In high school I was heavily involved with cheerleading and 4-H (an organization that gets kids involved with their community and teaches them about agriculture through animal projects).  Now in college I find myself involved with my sorority.  I basically live and breathe it, not to mention that I live with 18 other people in the sorority house (ten girls to one bathroom, you do the math).  Last term I held a position as pledge educator which was more like a full-time job.  This semester I’m not as involved as I usually am, but I do plan on getting involved with other programs within the college of Agriculture. 

     Overall, I consider myself to be fun and outgoing person.  I enjoy being with friends and having a good time.  I love traveling, the outdoors, shopping, good food, and good company.  I guess you can say I’m one of those people who works hard, but plays harder.  I know that this time next year I’ll be out in the ‘real world’, but right now I’m just being that college girl who is living life by the moment, enjoying life as it comes, and not taking anything for granted.
